Study Guide Questions

1) When you are going through struggles James says there is one thing we should do - pray. When life seems to be beating you down, are you going to God in prayer? Are you asking him to provide peace and comfort that only he can provide?

2) James also tells us to 'sing praises' when things are going well. When things in life seem to be going in a good direction, is your first thought to praise God for all he has done? Do you draw closer to him when life is cruising along?

3) James also talks about confession and sickness. He says we are to confess our sins to one another (that doesn't mean shouting them from the rooftop for everyone to hear, but confiding in one another) and also go to others for prayer when we are sick. Through both of these actions, James focuses on the fact that our first thought should always be towards pray to God and the desire to draw nearer to him. Do you reach out to others to have them pray for you? Are you allowing others to bring your burdens before God? What's stopping you?
