JAM CAMP 2010 INFO

At Grace, we love our children! Each week we welcome them to our special, kids-only Children’s Church.

Kids of all ages can attend Children’s Church, which runs during all our 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sunday services. Children 3 and under are welcome to spend the whole service in the nursery. Older children stay upstairs in the sanctuary for the first part of the service (worship) with the adults and then head off to their classrooms for Bible lessons, arts, crafts, and fun!  We are currently able to offer Childrens Church for Nursery – K at our Farmington location and hope to expand that program to School Age kids in the near future.

Nursery (Rochester & Farmington)
Grace welcomes infants through 3-year-olds to our nursery each week. The nursery opens about 15 minutes before each service begins, but parents are welcome to bring their children at any point during the service.

Twos & Threes (Rochester & Farmington)
This is a class for little ones who are ready to move from the nursery to a more educational setting.  Parents can drop off their children (using the Nursery entrance) after we’ve dismissed the kids for Children’s Church—about 30 minutes after the start of the service. We’ll give each parent a pager just in case the teachers need to contact you for any reason.  Please note, we only offer this class during the 10 a.m. service.

Pre-K & Kindergarten (Rochester & Farmington)
Our class for 4 and 5-year-olds meets downstairs in the classroom in the food pantry hallway. Kids will have fun learning about the Bible and spending time with their friends! Right now, we’re using the Promiseland curriculum, “In the Beginning” as our main teaching tool. You can check out the lessons at www.promiselandonline.com.

Elementary School (Rochester)
School age kids in grade 1– 6 meet weekly in the Orange Room (on the second floor, behind the sanctuary). We begin by teaching a group lesson, and then split the children up into age-appropriate sections for discussion and activities. We’re using the Elevate curriculum (www.elevatekids.com) to help kids learn Bible basics in a fun, interactive setting. We hope to offer a School Age program at our Farmington location in the near future!

Each week, we dismiss our school age children back into the service so they can join their families for communion.

Volunteers Needed!
Would you like to get involved with Children’s Church? We’re looking for adults to be Lead Teachers (in charge of the classroom and weekly lessons) or Helpers (a much-needed helping hand) in our Children’s Church.

If you love children and want to help teach them about God’s Word, contact Rachel. We always need more great volunteers!
