What’s GYG?
GYG stands for Grace Youth Group—two great groups of teens/tweens/young adults (whatever you want to call ‘em) who get together to learn about God’s world-changing love while hanging out, making friends, and having a little LOTS OF fun on a weekly basis.
Through GYG, middle school and senior high students learn about Christianity and build their faith through regular events, seasonal youth retreats, community service projects, and more. GYG also runs a weekly Bible study and in-depth classes for teens in crisis.
As a group, GYG students have also been known to make post-midnight trips to IHOP during lock-ins, video tape scavenger hunts, play 20-on-20 half-court basketball games, consume 150 hotdogs per hour at BBQs, and sing entire Jonas Brother albums a cappella. Duct tape, marshmallows, and Red Bull all make regular appearances at GYG, too.
What’s the average GYG night like?
While schedules vary weekly, students can usually expect to have a chance to get to know each other through free time and games, launch a few water balloons, play a little ping pong, and spend time praying, singing, and studying the Bible’s real-life applications.
Who can go to GYG?
Anyone in middle school or senior high—no church experience or application necessary.
If you’re younger, you’ll have to wait. If you’re older, we’d love to have you as an “adult” volunteer on our A-Team!
When does GYG meet?
Middle School (6th-8th grades) – 6:30-8:00 PM Tuesdays
Senior High (9th-12th grades) – 6:00-8:30 PM Thursdays
